So much I did not know about. So much I do not know about, but I am not worried about all that. You know why? Because of you. Thank you Ayush. Also, the video...just. Thank you.
When I used to think I am the main character (I still do but I keep my views to myself) in music reviews etc., I used to record things, not video but audio. This was long time ago. I have recorded Rajasthan traditional wedding songs. Plural. Songs. Also, I caught a ravanhatta player and made him play some stuff and recorded it. This was too close. I loved it and I hope you have a longer recording. Thank you nevertheless with gratitude.
Superb piece, Ayush. I am ashamed to admit that I've never been to Murshidabad. Your wonderful post has made me want to rectify this. Perhaps I should plan a visit the next time I'm going home to Kolkata.
Jagath Seth’s importance in British’s rise is rarely written about. The last time I heard was on the Empire podcast. Thanks for filling us the details. As always, your writing is easy to read yet with lots of nuance. Keep giving more 🙂

Thanks so much 😊
Also stoked that you liked his music. It is one of those songs I think of randomly sometimes
